Student Network Spotlight: Audra Knight

Hi everyone! My name is Audra Knight and I’m a junior here at UofSC. I’m from Lexington, South Carolina - only about 30 minutes outside of Columbia. I’m studying Management at the Darla Moore School of Business, and I’m minoring in Psychology. After graduation, I plan to attend graduate school to study Higher Education and Student Affairs.

Since freshman year, I’ve been involved with Student Government and I’ve found a passion for working with students to make their student experience as great as it can be. This year, I will be the Freshman Council advisor, where I’ll get to lead 40 of our university’s brightest freshman. I’m excited to say the least!

Outside of Student Government, I love reading, working out, and baking. My two favorite books are This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald and The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown, but I would highly recommend any books by her. You can find me de-stressing by sitting in a coffee shop (Blue Flour Bakery and Blūm Coffee are a few of my favorites) or running at the beautiful Riverfront Park. I also love to bake for my friends, and nothing makes me happier than seeing the smile on someone’s face when they get to taste-test one of my new recipes.

My experience here at UofSC has been nothing short of transformative. Coming to Carolina, I never could have imagined all the opportunities that would unfold for me. From Student Government, to working in the Career Center, and even interning with the Student Alumni Association, I’ve had the chance to see campus from different perspectives and meet some incredible people. You can leave Carolina, but the memories, friendships, and experiences will never leave you. I encourage you to get involved early and stay involved. The people and connections you make here will stay with you forever, just like my connections from Student Government and the Alumni Association will be with me. I can’t wait for the next two years ahead here at Carolina, and I hope I get to meet some of you around campus!

Forever to Thee,

Audra
