Student Network Member Spotlight: Veronica McLean

Meet Garnet Circle Member Veronica McLean! Veronica is a senior English and psychology major from Blythewood, South Carolina. Veronica chose to attend the University of South Carolina because of the many opportunities offered.

“I knew I would have awesome support and unique experiences through the Honors College, and I also knew that the university as a whole has endless resources, so I would be able to explore my passions and truly make the most out of my time in college.”

For the past four years, Veronica has been on South Carolina’s Equestrian Team and has served as an ambassador and officer for Honors College. She has also been a mentor for the Honors College's peer mentor program and is a part of the Pillars for Carolina program. Being involved in these organizations gives her an opportunity to mentor those with an interest to come to the university she loves.

“UofSC is home. It holds a place in my heart like no other, and there are truly no words to explain how much it has given me and how much it means to me.”

Veronica also serves as a member of Garnet Circle, which helps build relationships among generations of Gamecocks and keeps UofSC traditions alive. As a senior, she enjoys all of the networking events that are available to students to help them transition out of college.

“I have always loved tradition of any kind, so when I heard about Garnet Circle, I knew I wanted to be a part of the organization that was at the heart of keeping many of our Gamecock traditions alive.”
